What if a historic remnant could be turned into a public destination to catalyze not only a development, but an entire region? This ambitious proposal seeks to do just that by bringing a sense of place to a ditch that once served as the Ohio & Erie Canal, while covering the spillway with a large structure to create a public, lake-front beach amenity with access to the water.

If realized, this set of jewels on the lake would tie into existing bike pathways and road networks to create a one of a kind attractor for the community, while simultaneously driving usable, desirable property further away from the lakefront. This transformation would turn a once lonely property on a small, almost unusable piece of water frontage into an exciting attraction for the entire community - a new gateway to the water.
